We see the big 5
1.    Main aim/s
The main aim of this lesson is to:
«   To broaden learners knowledge about the big 5
«  Learn the learners new sounds
«  To improve their righting skills with new sounds
2.    Objectives
By the end of the lesson the learners will be able to
«  Identify the different animals in the big 5
«  Know how the new sounds go in a word and how to pronouns it
«  Know how to use new sounds in a  sentence.
3.    Assumptions
The learners already know about different sounds in English for example ai, ch, th, ch therefore learners should now know how to use it in words awell as sentences.

4.    Anticipated difficulties
Learners may get confused about what animals are in the big 5.Therefor we will put posters of the big 5 in the classroom.

We will use a projector (white board) to display videos of the the big 5, there may be power failure and in that case we will use a laptop as a backup to show them the big 5.

Some of the learners may struggle with the sight words and the sounds. We can help by giving sentences with words as an example.

After the teacher introduces the topic of the lesson, with is we see the big five, the teacher will then ask the class do they know what the big 5 is.

Learners will then give examples of what they think the big 5 is. After that the teacher will show the posters of the big 5.

«           Here learners will start to feel excited about lesson and about the first multimedia witch is posters

Teaching and learning stage
15 min
The teacher will open the PowerPoint and read the story to the learners.


Learners will then be shown a video about the big 5 and what they look like in the wild.

After the teacher reads the story the learners will be asked questions about the story.

These questions will introduce the different sounds and after that the sounds will appear on the PowerPoint. Egai, ch, th, ck.
The learners will then be asked to make words with these sounds.



«           Identify the big five and new sounds. Leaners will also be given the opportunity to feel excited about the story.

There will then be given out a worksheet were the learners have to complete the words by filling in the sounds given to them.

Homework

The learners will then have to make sentences in their workbook, with the words they made.
